Welcome to A Second Chance

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. Lucy

Hi - The first two weeks with Lucy were a little rough, but she has settled in quite nicely now and is the spoiled "baby" of the family. She did try to be alpha dog for a while there and was snapping at our other dog and son on occasion, but we understood that she had been spayed and had a puppy taken away shortly before joining our family, so we were all patient with her. It took the dogs a couple weeks to sort out jealousy and territorial issues, but now they are good friends - sharing toys nicely, playing and even napping together. Lucy is now a wonderful addition to our family! She's very snuggly and everybody's favorite nap buddy. She has learned all the house rules very quickly and adapted very well.
