Welcome to A Second Chance

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. Wish

Hi, Wish is now known as Amaya and she is doing great, we just love her! She has quickly bonded with her beagle sister, Mikkei and making her way into her other sister, Keelah's heart. She is very busy with them. On Saturday she had a puppy check up and the vet said she is a healthy 3.9 pounds. The beginning of April she will be getting her rabies vaccination. We are still working on the potty training and just today she started using the big girl door (doggy door), we are so proud of her. I am also waiting for her needles to fall out and her big girl teeth to come in. We are also working on what the vet refers to as temper tantrums when she doesn't get her way (I understand this is common in Chi's). So far whenever she goes for a car ride she lays on me and falls asleep. She also does really good on keeping up with her sisters during walks. Thank you for allowing us to adopt her. Karen & Walter
