Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Bria
Bria

We would like to thank you for putting us together with our newest member of the family. We just love Bria. She walked into our home and was part of the family right away, as if she new she was "home" instantly. Actually, I am not sure if she picked me or I picked her. From the moment she crawled up onto my lap at the Petsmart and made herself comfortable, I think we both knew she was coming home. Bria was about 11 pounds when we brought her home. She is now 25 lbs. at four months old, expected to be about 50lbs fully grown. She is very smart. She has learned her boundaries in and outside of the house and even learned how to play with the cat (that has claws) nicely. When we walk her on the leash, everyone loves to say hello to her and try to guess what breed she is. We have fun listening to their suggestions. We believe she is red boned coon hound and ridgeback because her beautiful dark red hair down the center of her back is turned against the hairline of the rest of the back. We don't worry too much about what her parents' traits are, because we are happy with our big girl, Bria! Thanks for doing what you do for all of the dogs and people that need each other, Sherri Blanford
