Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. Hi. Cece (or Bella as we call her) is loving it in her new home and with her big brother Oskar, who is a 2 1/2 year old shepherd mix. She was confirmed with hook worms when I took her to your vet 2 days after adoption to have her stitches removed, and it took a couple weeks to get rid of them, in that time she lost a lot of weight and was very ill. Think we were close to losing her? But, vet was great and she made it through, has put on lots of weight and is growing well now.. She is a very smart and sweet puppy, I'm sure we will have many great years with her.. Thanks, Lars Kjellerup

Callye

Well the first change for Callye was her name, we now call her Roxy. Roxy has acclimated to her surroundings very quickly. Roxy loves to run around the house with her toys (and also the kids' socks) in her mouth. She gets plenty of exercise and attention from us.

We are so happy that Roxy picked us to be her adopted family. We taught her how to sit, shake and almost how to stay, she is one smart puppy. Here are a few pictures I took of Roxy.

Charlie

We love Charlie, and Charlie has become a very special part of our family, just look at the picture!

Charlie loves to play in the yard and chase all the critters around, and play with Nico. They have had a fight over a bone, but what dogs don't! They are about the same size so no harm done.

We love Charlie, he is home.

Caramel

Just wanted to follow up on my promise to send pictures of "Caramel." We have since named her Lucy and she is the most amazing addition to our home! Thank you and your team so much for all you do. We are so happy with everything and continue to sing your and A Second Chance’s praises to all who remark on Lucy!

Cubby

Hi, My name is Lila Ritchey and we adopted Cubby, whos name is now Jet! He is such a good and well behaved dog. He now knows come, sit, paw, down, crate and we are starting to teach him fun tricks like roll over! He also like a game of fetch. He does not care to jump into the pool yet but he certainly loves water more his size like a bath! He is very funny when we take him on walks, he must have the leash in his mouth like he is walking himself! He has learned our routine and loves to cuddle up on the TV couch while we all watch a movie. My husband and I are very glad we got to adopt a dog like Jet.
